The old-world decor creates a genuine Scottish charm that transports you to a different time, making the atmosphere quite inviting. The intimate bar area, with its cozy vibe, becomes perfect for unwinding after a meal and really feels like a home away from home.
While the single room was clean, the thin duvet and small picnic blanket left me chilly at night, having to sleep with my coat on. The layout felt off, with mismatched placements of the armchair and kettle, making simple tasks a bit tedious. Privacy became an issue as the bathroom had no frosted glass, causing discomfort at night. the emergency hallway light did little to improve the spooky, unloved ambiance, especially with non-functioning bulbs. The folk music night was a nice touch, but as a lone traveler, not having a comfortable space to join in left me feeling out of place.

I had a fab time! Loved the rich, locally sourced food, especially the steak pie. the atmosphere was cozy with a charming old-world decor, and the staff went the extra mile to help. the room wasn't quite as spacious as the pictures suggested. I'd totally stay again!

Ideal for adventure lovers
Before heading out into the hills, we found the bar so cute, with a real fire crackling, it made you wanna settle in with a drink. Plus, the staff were happy to put together a meal for my daughter who's a bit picky, really made it easier for us.
It wasn’t exactly cheap, but it was still acceptable for what we got.
